What is Videomercials?

A: Videomercials is a website that offers seventies, eighties, and nineties TV commercials on VHS and DVD.

The concept of Videomercials was to isolate raw TV broadcasts onto VHS or DVD minus the TV programs.

And as a result you have a compilation that includes commercials of all kinds, station ID logos, movie trailers, newsbriefs, and everything television broadcasting was in those days.

You get to re-live it all over again, and you might even wonder what you were doing at the time of the broadcast.

When I watch these compilations I always wondered what I was doing the day these broadcasts aired.

Q: When did Videomercials debut?

A: Videomercials was under a face-lift during 2002 (from the previous "Cartoon Closet" site), and it wasn't in the search engines until February of 2003. This was the first place dedicated to providing "TV Airchecks" to the public in the form of a website.

While other sites were putting downloadable or sound clips of individual TV commercials on their sites, we were the only ones offering them in a raw broadcast format.

Q: How is the quality on the commercials?

A: The quality is from Good to Excellent for the most part.

Q: Can I order by mail?

A: Yes you can. Here is our Mail-in Order Form. Follow the instructions carefully.

Q: Where did you obtain these old TV commercials?

A: Some of them came from years of Tape Trading, and from my own recordings during the eighties.

Q: Which payment methods do you accept?

A: We accept PayPal.

Q: How are your DVD/Videos different from others I have purchased elsewhere?

A: Well for one thing, most of our videos are "TV Airchecks" which means they are from the actual airwaves with nothing edited except for the repeated commercials and Tv programs.

We do our best to make the videos look like the real broadcast.

And furthermore, you will not receive a tape or DVD full of repeated commercials or that is hard to watch.

Q: Are these manufactured DVD/Videos?

A: No, these were made by me. Manufactured videos of commercials will lack the broadcast feeling. Our videos are from the TV Airwaves (except for Volumes 14 through 18, which came from 16mm reels.)

Q: What kind of commercials are these?

A: They are the commercials you'd see when you watch a TV broadcast minus the TV Show, Cartoon, or Movie.

Q: Could you sell me just one commercial? This is the only one I want.

A: If you want only one particular commercial, then you still have to purchase the video containing that commercial.

Q: When will I receive my order?

A: If you place an order, you will receive your order within the week or the following week.

Q: Can I place an order by phone?

A: Videomercials is strictly an online and mail order service. We answer e-mails 24-hours a day, and will usually respond within a few hours.

Q: I want my order fast. Do you offer Overnight Shipping?

A: Overnight Shipping is not available for this type of service being offered to you.

The DVDs/Videos has to be processed before they are mailed.

Q: Which courier service do you use to ship packages?

A: We mainly ship by the USPS Postal Service. For larger orders "UPS Ground Service" is used.

Q: Do you ship worldwide?

A: Yes we do. And if sending a Money Order, make sure that your it's in US Dollars.

Postal Money Orders is preferred from those not in the USA.

Q: Do you have the full broadcasts with the commercials, if so, can you sell me them?

A: We have the full broadcasts on some of the Volumes, however, they aren't being offered at this present time.

Q: I've ordered, and I am not satisfied. Can I return for an exchange or refund?

A: Due to the nature of these DVDs and VHS Tapes, we do not offer refunds. This is because we sell "media" type of items which can be duplicated by anyone or based on the fact that you've seen the footage on the media and cannot offer refund. We will however replace your VHS or DVD if you've gotten a bad copy which is highly unlikely since we test the medias before they are mailed out to you.

We are not a Video Rental Service, therefore, I cannot accept exchanges for a different Volume simply because you didn't like the commercials you saw. To offer a refund would mean you gotten a "free viewing" without really paying.

It's true, some of these commercials are indeed available for download "free" at other sites... and some of their ads came from this site as the source.

Another thing is that they only have hundreds of regular ads (or less) that people are probably tired of viewing due to it's free exposure to the internet. One more point to look at is this site has thousands of commercials.

Many of the download sites only focus on one particular decade and it's either the seventies or eighties, while this site has commercials ranging from the 1950's through the late 1990's.

I personally don't think it's fun watching vintage commercials in an individual download format, they are better viewed the way it originally aired... and hey, that's my opinion.

All Sales are Final. Please make sure that you know what you are ordering before buying. These are "TV Commercials", they are not Movies, Cartoons, or TV Shows.

I realize my products isn't for everyone, and we want to make sure there is an understanding of what you are purchasing.

Q: What should I expect when I receive the VHS or DVD?

A: You will receive the VHS tape in either a generic plastic casing or in a cardboard case colored sleeve with a label.

The DVD will come in eithera generic black plastic casing with a label or in paper sleeves.

Everything you receive will be handwritten, including the package they will come in.

Q: Could you make me a special video with one kind of commercial... such as Diapers, Beauty items, Toys, or a series of certain commercials on a tape just for me?

A: Sorry, it will take too much time skimming my collection to find certain ads.

Q: Say, I've noticed that you don't list all of the commercials you have on each video, why is that???

A: What's listed is a brief summary of what you will see in the first 20 to 60 minutes of the video. I have to view each commercial to find out what it's about, then add it to the summary listing.

There are a lot of ads on these compilations, and commercials are 30-second spots while some are up to 1-minute (like most Public Service Announcements and promos), so you can just imagine how long it takes to compile summary listing.

Q: Do you think I will enjoy these videos?

A: As a rule, never judge these compilations based on the summary. You may have low expectations at first then when you receive the video it's 100 times better than described in the brief summary.

Like I said, the video has MORE than regular product commercials. You never know what you'll find on the these compilations, it maybe a commercial or something from a local station (such as WNEW channel 5 in NYC) you have long forgotten.

Q: I have purchased a TV Ad compilation from eBay, and it is exactly the same as the one I bought from you a while back, can I send this back to you for an exchange or refund?

A: Please make Videomercials your #1 Source for old television commercials on VHS or DVD to avoid getting duplicates. A few of my past customers are now on eBay and iOffer selling DVDs of old TV commercials that came from this website, they would even copy the summary listing that I have given each Volume (which took me hours to list.)

I cannot be responsible for you buying a compilation from others that either resemble or looks exactly like the one(s) you've purchased here. This is why I am seriously considering putting a Videomercials logo in the footage to reduce folks from obtaining these compilations from this site for the sole purpose of reselling copies or uploading them on their sites for download.

Compiling and editing these TV Airchecks is a tedious process, and I don't appreciate not getting any credit for my efforts simply because they are for sale at this website and some individuals may have a problem with that.

So, all I can recommend is make this website your #1 place for TV Airchecks to avoid getting inferior versions of my compilations.

Q: Which volumes are "TV Airchecks" and were made exclusively by Videomercials?

A: Not all these volumes are Videomercials exclusives, and so they are formatted differently. An exclusive Videomercials footage is one that has everything from the original broadcast and nothing was left out of it.

Here is a list of exclusive "TV Airchecks" that was made and formatted by Videomercials, they are Volumes: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 20, 21, 26, 27, 28, 31, 33, 34, 37, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 47, 48, 49.

Here are Volumes that are "TV Airchecks" and were made by Video Traders and were sent to me in a trade, they are Volumes: 12, 13, 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, 38.

Here are Volumes that was made by Video Traders and are NOT "TV Airchecks", they are Volumes: 19, 25, the first half of Vol 32, 35, 36, 44, 45, 46. These compilations has regular 70's or 80's TV commercials and they may or may not give reference to the TV Networks or the local TV Stations, they would suggest it has a few or some TV Airchecks on the compilation. Observe the summary listings for these volumes to see if they give any clues to containing original broadcast footage, such as any references to CBS, NBC, ABC, or local TV stations.

Here are Volumes that came from an off-line source, they are Volumes: 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56.

I just wanted to clear this up because some of you who purchased these volumes may have noticed that some of these DVDs/Videos are not "TV Airchecks", they are regular commercials without the broadcast element like my exclusives has.

So, if you want to watch a DVD/Video that looks like the broadcast, then I recommend you to select the volumes that I've stated are "TV Airchecks" and "Exclusively made by Videomercials."

If you don't care whether or not they look like the broadcast, then you can select any one you want.

Q: I've noticed the word *Exclusive next to certain Volumes, what does it mean?

A. It means that it was compiled and formatted by Videomercials, and that it's from the original broadcasts.
